Hope everyone’s doing well and staying healthy and safe. Not much going on in my area, relatively speaking. 931 is doing pretty good, still needs a new windshield and alignment. But I think I’ve finally halted all the oil leaks the car has had since Day 1!
The Mustang has it’s fourth and currently worst case of “Ford can’t prep aluminum hoods worth a damn” (aka, corrosion under the paint), so I’ll probably take it to the dealership for that within the month.
My summer internship that was supposed to have started last month will begin on June 15th. Not sure how much will be on-site or remote, but I’m looking forwards to it and getting off unemployment.
I hope all of you and your families are well and safe during these very turbulent times.

Not well!
It’s only 10:45 am but
fuck
this day, fuck this month, fuck this year. On the other hand, I am alive and reasonably
healthy, as are all my loved ones, so it ain’t all bad.

Somebody told me that the problem with Ford aluminum paint adhesion is that they did not get all the iron/steel off of the surface that is left behind from the stamping dies before painting. The person who explained to me said that many manufactured use aluminum body panels si its not an alumi num problem,. T his is really a Ford thing.

You should know that the resurrection of the 924 gives me continued hope that I can get my datsun 240z to a reasonable state of reliability and daily driver duties for the summer months . Because you know that a 1970 Ni ssan is a boat load easier to work on than an Audi/Porsche conglomeration. Anyway I have a large assortment of suspension parts coming in today and plan on tearing into the front end this weekend while still trying to get the brakes to an acceptable level of safety. I had a guy give me the thumbs up last week, he was driving a yellow 914. There is solidarity with us old car drivers.

I certainly hope that it’s easier! And I believe the 924 is one of the easiest to work on as well. Classic car solidarity forever! What’ve you got cooking for the suspension?

I’m replacing the bushings in the steering rack, sway bar bushings, tie rod ends, and new end links. Then I can finally get it aligned. Next will be wheels and tires that are slightly more modern. The selection for 14” tires is not good. Oh also got new seat foam and upholstery so I’m not sitting on rotten vinyl.
